Our 28-pound brindle Boxer mix is curious about the hose but feels cramped on small splash mats, so I switched to the 170 cm Cartoon Blue AquaPaw Dog Splash Pad & Sprinkler Mat. I set it on the clean concrete on our rooftop patio, checked for grit, and connected a regular garden hose. I started with low pressure and let him watch the little jets before coaxing him onto the mat. The larger mat has a dark-blue scalloped edge, a blue center covered with cartoon animals and alphabet circles, spray openings around the perimeter, and a yellow-and-black hose connector. The 170 cm size gives him room to step in, circle, and move back out without filling the whole mat. He started with his front paws on the center, then walked around the edge after the water settled. There is even enough room for a dry towel and a clear place to step off. I keep the spray low because higher arcs make him back away, and I stay nearby while the concrete is wet. We use the shaded side, keep a separate bowl of drinking water ready, and take breaks. Afterward I disconnect the hose, drain the mat, wipe off grit and paw marks, and leave it open to dry before folding. The larger size is much more comfortable for a medium dog, though it takes more room and longer to rinse and store. The printed surface shows muddy paw marks quickly, and spray height still depends on hose pressure, so this is best for a supervised short play session.
