Product Overview

Soft Pet Steps for Beds, Sofas, and Cautious Climbers

AuraEase soft dog steps for bed and couch help small dogs, senior pets, short-legged breeds, and many cats reach favorite furniture with less jumping. The soft step profile suits pets who hesitate at hard stairs, slip on smooth floors, or need a calmer way up and down.

Best Fit: Small dogs, cats, puppies, senior pets, and cautious climbers who can use step-by-step access.

Use It For: Beds, sofas, window perches, low benches, and everyday furniture access.

Setup: Place the steps flush against furniture, check height match, and make the first climb slow and supervised.

Care: Keep the step surface clean and dry so paws can grip comfortably.

Why Softer Steps Can Feel Easier

Lower Jump Stress

A step path breaks one big leap into smaller movements, which can be easier for pets who are aging, recovering confidence, or simply built close to the ground.

Cat and Dog Friendly

The design is not limited to dogs. Many cats use soft pet stairs when the height, placement, and texture feel stable enough for repeated climbs.

Furniture Match Matters

The right step count depends on furniture height. A better height match makes the top step feel like a natural extension of the bed or couch.

Soft Surface Feel

Plush texture gives hesitant paws a more welcoming landing than slick plastic or hard wood, especially in bedrooms and living rooms.

Fit, Training, and Placement Tips

Height Tip

Match the final step as close as possible to your mattress or sofa cushion height. Too short creates a final jump; too tall can feel intimidating.

First Use

Guide pets with praise or a treat trail, then let them repeat the route at their own pace. Avoid rushing pets who pause halfway.

Room Placement

Set the steps where your pet already approaches the furniture. A familiar path improves adoption more than placing steps in a visually convenient corner.

Size Guide: Length (L) × Width (W) × Height (H)

How to read the dimensions: L = Length, W = Width, and H = Height. Every size is listed in this order: L × W × H.

Usage Scenario

Where AuraEase Safety Pet Steps fit best

Use AuraEase as soft dog steps for bed and couch, creating a stable indoor route for pets that can still climb confidently but need an easier way to reach furniture.

Couch access

Small dog on couch

Use it for: small dogs that repeatedly jump up and down for sofa time.

Setup: place the steps flush against the couch and keep the position consistent so the route feels familiar.

Fit note: best for pets that can climb shallow steps without stumbling or hesitation.

Senior routine

Senior pet with good balance

Use it for: older pets that still walk steadily but benefit from a softer path to furniture.

Setup: guide slowly with treats, keep early sessions short, and stop if your pet looks uncertain.

Fit note: ask a veterinarian if your pet has major mobility limits, back issues, or a stair restriction.

Low furniture

Cats, chairs, and lower beds

Use it for: cats and small pets that use lower indoor furniture, window spots, or bedroom seating.

Setup: choose the step count based on furniture height and the Size Guide, not just pet size.

Fit note: the steps are for indoor furniture access, not car entry or outdoor use.

Training week

First-week training

Use it for: pets that need time to trust a new step texture or route.

Setup: start with the bottom step, reward calm movement, and avoid forcing a full climb.

Fit note: confidence matters more than speed in the first few sessions.

Neutral home fit

Decor-sensitive home

Use it for: bedrooms and living rooms where hard plastic stairs feel too bulky or out of place.

Setup: choose beige or gray and position the steps where they do not block foot traffic.

Fit note: remove and wash the cover as needed to keep the surface fresh.

Fit Tip

Bed-height matching

Use It For: small dogs, cats, and steady senior pets that need a repeatable route to a bed or couch.

Setup: measure the furniture height, choose the closest step count, and keep the stairs flush against the furniture edge.

Fit Tip: best for pets that can climb steps confidently; pets with poor balance may need a ramp or professional guidance.

Care Tip: These steps support everyday access for step-confident pets. They are not a treatment for injury, arthritis, or mobility disease.

Product FAQs

How do I choose between 2, 3, and 4 steps?
Use the Size Guide as the source of truth. Measure from the floor to the top of your couch or bed surface, then choose the closest height: 2 Steps for lower furniture, 3 Steps for standard sofas or lower beds, and 4 Steps for taller indoor furniture.
How do these steps help reduce jumping?
They turn one higher leap into smaller steps for everyday bed and couch access. They are not a treatment for injury, arthritis, or mobility disease.
Are these better than a ramp?
These pet steps are best for small dogs, cats, and pets that can still walk up shallow steps. If your pet has poor balance, a back issue, major joint limitations, or a vet has advised avoiding stairs, a ramp or veterinary guidance may be better.
Is the cover washable?
Yes. Remove the cover, machine wash on a gentle cold cycle, and air dry before putting it back on the foam core.
What pets are these not ideal for?
They are not ideal for pets that chew foam, very large or heavy pets, pets that cannot safely step, outdoor use, or car access.
How do I help my pet use the steps for the first time?
Place the steps flush against the furniture, keep them in the same spot, and guide slowly with treats. Start with one or two calm climbs rather than expecting immediate confident use.
What matters most before buying pet steps?
Measure furniture height, confirm your pet can still climb shallow steps, and choose the step count that creates the smoothest route to the bed or couch.

Customer photo review of AuraEase Soft Dog Stairs for Bed & Couch

These stairs have been a great fit for my 7-pound gray Miniature Schnauzer. She is usually hesitant to jump from the hardwood floor onto the low sofa in my home office, but after a few treat-assisted tries she started using the two steps on her own. The beige cover feels soft and has a little texture, and the rounded shape looks more like a small piece of furniture than a hard plastic step. The compact footprint works well beside the sofa, and the stairs stayed in place during her normal trips up and down. I still keep the surface dry, vacuum the seams, and supervise her first few uses. The two-step height is right for our low sofa, but I would choose a taller option for a high bed. Five stars for making sofa access easier without taking over the room.

Customer photo review of AuraEase Soft Dog Stairs for Bed & Couch

Our 7.5-pound cream Pug mix usually waits to be lifted onto our low daybed, so we tried the Beige AuraEase Soft Dog Stairs in the 2 Steps version. At about 15.7 by 15.7 inches and roughly 12 inches high, it fits neatly at the end of the daybed without crowding the bedroom doorway. The rounded two-step design has padded treads, enclosed sides, a lightly textured beige chenille cover, and a dark underside. I lined the top step up with the mattress and gave her time to sniff it before adding a treat to each step. After a few tries, she climbed up and now uses it to join us on quiet mornings. She takes a little longer coming down, so I stay nearby while she is using it. It is a good match for our low daybed, but I would measure the furniture before choosing the step count. The cover needs to stay dry and can be removed for a cold gentle wash and air-dried. The compact footprint and defined steps make this a five-star addition for our small dog.

Customer photo review of AuraEase Soft Dog Stairs for Bed & Couch

Our 16-pound blue-merle Cocker Spaniel mix likes the low ottoman by the sunroom window, but she usually waits for us to lift her up. I put the Beige / 2 Steps AuraEase stairs beside it. The 40 x 40 x 31 cm size fits the spot as long as I keep the approach clear. I set the top step against the cushion and used treats while she learned the new route. The cover is a warm beige, textured chenille-style fabric over high-density foam. The lower step is broad, the upper step is higher, and both front edges are rounded. The side walls are soft and fabric covered, with a thin black strip around the base. The foam gives a little under her weight but still holds its shape, so she can pause before the final step. She only used the lower step on the first day. Once the room was quiet, she started going all the way up and now comes back down the same way. I check that the top stays flush, since a quick turn can shift the stairs sideways. The 31 cm height works for our low ottoman but would not reach our regular bed, and the 40 cm depth needs some clear floor space. Her loose blue-gray and white hair shows on the beige cover, so I vacuum the front edge and remove the cover when it needs a deeper clean. It can be washed cold on a gentle cycle and air-dried before going back over the foam. The compact two-step design and washable cover work well for our low furniture. The limited height means it suits low furniture best, and I do need to keep it aligned, but it has been a good fit for our ottoman, so I’m giving it five stars.

Customer photo review of AuraEase Soft Dog Stairs for Bed & Couch

Our 11-pound black-and-tan Dachshund mix used to wait for a lift onto the low loveseat, so I tried the Beige / 2 Steps AuraEase Soft Dog Stairs beside it. The two-step version is about 15.75 x 15.75 inches at the footprint and roughly 12 inches high, which fits this seat well. I pushed the top step flush with the cushion, checked that the black anti-slip bottom was flat on the wood floor, and introduced it one slow climb at a time. The stairs have a warm beige chenille-style textured cover, high-density foam inside, enclosed beige side panels, rounded front corners, and two broad, gently curved step surfaces instead of a hard straight staircase. With her front paws on the upper step and back paws on the lower one, she can reach the loveseat without making one big jump. The foam feels soft under her paws but keeps the steps defined enough for her to place them. It took a few short, supervised tries before she stopped hopping around the side. I keep the stairs square to the loveseat, leave the approach clear, and watch the first few descents so she does not rush the bottom edge. The 2-step height works for our low seat, but it would not reach a taller bed, and the compact footprint gives a longer-bodied dog less room to turn than a larger stair option. I also keep the cover and paws dry so the textured surface stays comfortable to grip. The removable cover is convenient. I wash it cold on a gentle cycle and air dry it before putting it back on the foam. The beige fabric shows dark fur quickly, and the stairs are light enough to shift if I drag them instead of lifting them, so I recheck the position after cleaning the floor. They are not a replacement for supervision or a guarantee that every pet will use steps, but for our low loveseat they have become a practical little route. The compact size suits our setup well.

Customer photo review of AuraEase Soft Dog Stairs for Bed & Couch

My 13-pound dachshund used to pause before jumping onto our low loveseat, so I set the beige two-step stairs right against it. She was cautious at first, but after a few tries she started using both steps instead of making one big jump. The wide, soft steps feel steady on our hardwood floor, and the top lines up nicely with the cushion. The cover does show paw marks, but it comes off for washing. The two-step height is great for a low sofa, though I’d choose a taller option for a bed.

Customer photo review of AuraEase Soft Dog Stairs for Bed & Couch

The beige two-step stairs have made it easier for our 13-pound Schnauzer mix to get onto the low couch without making one big jump. I placed them flush with the cushion and used a few treats on each step at first. He now walks up most of the time, although excitement still wins when he comes back down. The textured cover feels softer than the plastic steps we tried before, and the rounded shape looks tidy in the living room. The anti-slip base stays mostly put on our laminate, but I still straighten the stairs and check the top edge before use. Dust and wiry hair show on the light cover, so I remove it for a gentle wash and let it air-dry fully. They take up some floor space, but they are a comfortable option for a small dog who prefers a gradual climb.

Customer photo review of AuraEase Soft Dog Stairs for Bed & Couch

Our 10-pound apricot Havanese mix prefers a step-by-step climb to jumping onto the low sofa, so I placed the AuraEase stairs flush against the cushion and spent the first evening luring her up one step at a time with treats. She was cautious at first, but now she uses them to get up and down when the room is quiet. The chenille-style cover feels soft under her paws, while the high-density foam gives each tread enough firmness that it does not feel like a pile of loose cushions. They take up a noticeable amount of floor space, but the height works well for our sofa. The beige surface blends into the room but shows paw dust quickly, so I keep the treads clean and dry. The anti-slip bottom has kept the stairs from shifting on our hardwood during normal climbs, but I still check that they stay flush with the furniture and supervise her when she is excited. She sometimes pauses on the top step, and this is a soft staircase rather than a wide ramp, so a pet that dislikes individual steps may need a different design. The cover can be removed for a cold gentle wash and air drying, which makes the routine manageable.

Customer photo review of Soft Dog Stairs with Non-Slip Ramp for Small Pets

We got the 3-step version for our older beagle because the jump up to the couch was starting to look a little hard on his back. The slope is gentler than the narrow pet stairs we tried before, so he used it after about a day of coaxing with treats. It stays put on our wood floor in the living room, which I was honestly worried about, and the foam feels supportive without being stiff. The only small downside is that it takes up a bit more space than I expected, but in a house it has been easy enough to leave next to the couch. Overall it made things a lot easier for him and gave us some peace of mind too.

Customer photo review of Soft Chenille Dog Stairs with Non-Slip Ramp for Small Pets

The steps are soft and easy to clean. My yorkie, Bella, adjusted to them quickly. It’s great that I can remove and wash the cover. The design is sleek, and it fits perfectly in our living room!

Customer photo review of Soft Chenille Dog Stairs with Non-Slip Ramp for Small Pets

I was surprised by how well-made these stairs are. They’re soft but feel incredibly durable. My Oliver, has no issues climbing up, and the non-slip bottom is a game changer. Worth every penny!

Customer photo review of Soft Chenille Dog Stairs with Non-Slip Ramp for Small Pets

The stairs are great! My Rex, was hesitant at first but he’s slowly getting used to it. They are well-built and provide great support. My only small issue is that the cover could be a bit easier to remove for washing.

Customer photo review of Soft Chenille Dog Stairs with Non-Slip Ramp for Small Pets

Our Max, loves these stairs! He used to struggle jumping up to our couch, but now he’s zooming up the soft steps. The fabric feels amazing and gives him that extra grip. Max is using it every day and we’ve had no issues!

Does what it says. Cat likes it.

I don't usually write reviews but I had to for this. My beagle Barnaby is 14 and his hips are bad. For months I've been lifting him onto the couch and I could tell he felt bad about it. Bought the 2-step version. It took him maybe two tries with a treat and now he just walks up like he owns the place again. The foam is firm enough that he doesn't sink in, which was my worry. Thank you for giving him his independence back.

The stairs themselves are great. Very sturdy foam, my cat uses them to get to the window perch. I took a star off because putting the cover back on after washing was a bit of a wrestling match. The zipper got stuck halfway. I eventually got it zipped but was afraid it might rip. Once it's on though it looks nice and clean.

When I first opened the box I was like... uh oh. It was vacuum sealed super tight and looked all deformed and squishy. I almost returned it right then. But the instructions said wait 24-48 hours so I left it alone. Came back the next day and it had puffed up perfectly into shape! It's actually super firm now. Just a heads up for anyone who opens the box and panics lol. My yorkie runs up and down it all day.

If you have a weenie dog you know the fear of them jumping off high stuff. IVDD is no joke. I got the 3 step for my bed. It grips the floor really well so it doesnt slide when he gets the zoomies and launches himself up it. The fabric is kinda grippy too so he doesnt slip. best purchase ive made for him this year.

I have a heavier bulldog mix and when he runs up it quickly it shifts a tiny bit. It's fine if he walks slow but I wish the bottom grip was stickier on hardwood floors.

My 12 year old beagle, Buster, hasn't been able to jump on the bed for months. It was breaking my heart hearing him whine at night. I put these steps right at the foot of the bed. It took a few treats to coax him the first time, but now he trots up and down like he owns the place. The foam is firm, not squishy, so he doesn't lose his balance.

Looks nice. My cat uses it more than the dog lol.

Buster is 14 now and his back legs just aren't what they used to be. Watching him try to jump on the sofa was breaking my heart. Got the 3-step one. Took him a day or two to trust it (lots of treats involved haha) but now he marches right up like he owns the place. It’s firm enough that he doesn’t wobble. Really happy with this purchase.

Quality is great and the cover is super soft. I just wish I measured my bed better, the 3-step is a little short for my mattress height but my cat manages the last hop fine. Definitely get the 4-step if you have a tall bed.

No more lifting my 30lb beagle onto the bed five times a night!! He loves it. The cover comes off easy for washing which is a huge plus since he tracks mud everywhere.

Had those plastic stairs before and I kept stubbing my toe on them in the dark. These are soft so no more pain for me, and my pug loves them. Win win.

Total life saver. My bed is super high and my pups used to scratch the sheets trying to get up. This ramp is perfect. Looks nice too, not like those ugly plastic ones. Worth every penny.

Oh, my goodness, these steps are a lifesaver. My sweet golden retriever, Buddy, is almost 12 now and his hips just aren't what they used to be. It broke my heart seeing him struggle to jump onto our bed. He'd whine and look up at me. I tried lifting him but he's a big boy and I'm not getting any younger either! These soft steps are perfect. He took to them right away, like it was always meant to be. Now he climbs up slowly and carefully and he's right next to me again. The foam is really firm, so he feels steady. And the cover is so soft. It really is the best purchase I've made for him in years.

Bella just had ACL surgery and the vet said absolutely no jumping. I slept on the floor with her for two nights before these arrived. Best purchase ever. She can walk up slowly without hurting her leg. The non-slip bottom is legit, it doesn't slide away when she pushes off.

It does the job. I have a heavy Frenchie and he gets up fine. The non-slip bottom actually works on my hardwood floors which is a surprise. Taking off one star because the foam took almost 48 hours to fully puff up after taking it out of the vacuum bag. It looked kinda sad at first lol. But once it formed, it’s solid.
