Duck Hood Reflective Dog Raincoat FAQs
How do I choose the right size?
Measure your dog's neck, chest, and back length while they are standing. Compare all three measurements with the XS-4XL chart, using chest and back length before weight alone. If one measurement falls into a larger size, choose the option that allows comfortable movement without loose gaps. After measuring your dog's chest, neck, and back, use the Duck Hood raincoat size guide to compare the listed fit ranges before choosing.
Will the raincoat keep my whole dog dry?
The coated fabric helps rain bead away from the areas it covers. Paws, lower belly, tail area, and any gaps around the fit can still get wet, especially in wind or heavier rain, so keep a towel ready after the walk.
What do the reflective accents do?
They provide an added visibility cue when headlights, porch lights, or streetlights hit the coat. Reflective details do not replace a leash, traffic awareness, a safe route, or any lights you normally use.
Will every dog be comfortable with the hood?
No. Let your dog sniff the coat first, then try the hood for a few seconds indoors. Keep the transparent visor clear of the eyes and remove the hood if it changes your dog's movement, vision, or comfort.
Can I use it with a collar or harness?
The leash portal is intended for access to compatible walking gear underneath. Put the coat on indoors, connect the leash, and check that the opening lines up without pulling the coat or rubbing the neck and shoulders.
How should I clean and store it?
Hand wash in cold water, avoid bleach and ironing, and hang the raincoat until it is completely dry. Clear hair and debris from the closure before storing it open and dry.
