The blue mat turned a standard garden hose into a small play routine instead of a whole-yard mess. On our flat back deck, my little Rat Terrier learned to step in when the rim jets started, while the printed center and defined edge spray kept the activity in one spot. It drains and folds flat afterward, which makes warm-weather play easy to reset.
On warm afternoons, I lay the Cartoon Blue mat on a smooth patio and connect it to the garden hose. Starting with gentle pressure gives my small terrier time to investigate, then the spray around the rim turns it into a surprisingly fun splash game. The compact circle leaves enough room for him to step in, turn, and hop back onto the dry paving, although it is not a full run-around area. I stay nearby and give him regular breaks, then disconnect the hose, drain and rinse the mat, and leave it open to dry before folding it flat. It has made short garden play much simpler than filling a paddling pool, and the whole setup feels pleasantly straightforward.
He watched the first spray for a minute, then started walking through it and nosing at the arcs. The cartoon print is fun, and the hose connection was easy to use with low pressure.
After a cautious start, my dog began following the spray around the mat. The cartoon print is fun, and connecting it to the hose was easy once I started with low pressure.
Juniper ignored the hose until I connected it to this mat, and now she paws at the little sprays every time we set it up. The blue surface is fun, the water height is easy to adjust, and it drains and folds away without much fuss. We keep a towel nearby and stay with her while it’s running.
Our 28-pound brindle Boxer mix is curious about the hose but feels cramped on small splash mats, so I switched to the 170 cm Cartoon Blue AquaPaw Dog Splash Pad & Sprinkler Mat. I set it on the clean concrete on our rooftop patio, checked for grit, and connected a regular garden hose. I started with low pressure and let him watch the little jets before coaxing him onto the mat.
The larger mat has a dark-blue scalloped edge, a blue center covered with cartoon animals and alphabet circles, spray openings around the perimeter, and a yellow-and-black hose connector. The 170 cm size gives him room to step in, circle, and move back out without filling the whole mat. He started with his front paws on the center, then walked around the edge after the water settled. There is even enough room for a dry towel and a clear place to step off.
I keep the spray low because higher arcs make him back away, and I stay nearby while the concrete is wet. We use the shaded side, keep a separate bowl of drinking water ready, and take breaks. Afterward I disconnect the hose, drain the mat, wipe off grit and paw marks, and leave it open to dry before folding. The larger size is much more comfortable for a medium dog, though it takes more room and longer to rinse and store. The printed surface shows muddy paw marks quickly, and spray height still depends on hose pressure, so this is best for a supervised short play session.
My small dog is picky about beds when the weather warms up, but she took to this blue one after a little sniff. The XXS size fits her curled-up nap spot well, and the low, breathable surface feels cooler than a padded bed. It’s light enough to move around the house, though I’d size up if your pet likes to stretch out. I just wipe it down and let it dry before putting it away.
Our tricolor Beagle mix is curious about the garden hose but still backs away from deep water, so this mat has been an easy way to introduce a little summer play. I connected a regular hose, started with low pressure, and let her watch the first spray from the edge. After a few short sessions she began stepping onto the mat to chase the low jets, although she still prefers the outside edge.
The blue PVC mat has a softly raised scalloped rim and spray openings around the perimeter, creating a defined play area instead of water shooting everywhere. The bright cartoon print is fun and easy to spot. I clear grit from underneath, watch that she does not chew or dig at the edge, and keep a towel and water bowl nearby. When we finish, I drain it, wipe off patio dust, let it dry, and fold it flat. A fun warm-weather activity when supervised.
Our 4-year-old red-and-white Australian Cattle Dog mix figured out the AquaPaw pretty quickly. I started with the hose pressure low and let the water build up before inviting him over. He went from pawing at the edge to walking through the sprays and trying to catch the water, which gave him a nice outdoor break without setting up a full pool. The Cartoon Blue design is cheerful, and the scalloped rim stayed fairly flat on our smooth patio.
It gives one medium dog room to step, turn, and splash, but it is not a roomy running area. It needs supervision because our dog tried to mouth the edge when he got excited. Spray height changes with hose pressure, so I keep it low when we start and watch his footing.
After play, I disconnect the hose, drain the remaining water, wipe off grit, and leave the mat out until it is fully dry before folding it. It is much quicker than filling and emptying a pool, though the printed blue surface and wet patio make cleanup part of the routine. For a dog who enjoys water, it has been a simple warm-weather activity rather than an all-day toy.
The mat is about right for the strip of patio behind our kitchen door, so it does not take over the whole yard. I let the dog sniff it dry first, then turned the hose on low, and the spray came up in gentle arcs instead of blasting everywhere.
Afterwards I drained it, hung it over the railing to dry, and it folded flat enough to slide behind the shed. The only extra step is pulling the hose off before it folds neatly, which takes a few seconds.
Our two goldens went through three splash pads before this one. The material is thick enough that claws do not puncture it, and the sprinkler spray is soft rather than a hard jet. Fills in a minute and drains fast.
The splash pad kept our two goldens busy all summer. The material feels sturdy and the sprinkler ring is gentle on paws. Easy to fill and empty, and it folds small for storage.
After our walk, the dog sniffs the dry mat before I turn on the hose. The spray height follows the pressure, and the drained, dry mat folds flat for storage.
got this for my nieces bday since they live in florida. she loves it and so does her golden retriever. they chase each other in circles lol. seems pretty strong material, hasn't ripped yet.
So fun! We have two boxers and they go absolutely nuts. It’s hilarious to watch them try to bite the water. We’ve used it almost every day this week. No tears yet which is a miracle with these two.
Actually surprised by the quality. usually these things are cheap junk. this one feels heavier like a raft material. water pressure is good. my lab stands in the middle and bites the water for an hour straight.
My staffy is a tank and she wrecks literally everything. I was worried her nails would pop this instantly like the last kiddie pool we bought. Nope. This thing is tough. She's been digging at the water jets for a week and it's fine. Best money I spent for her boredom.
Meh. It's okay. My dog is terrified of the spray sound so he wont go near it. Also if you don't have perfectly flat ground the water pools on one side. barely use it.
Vraiment bien pour rafraîchir mon chien. Il fait très chaud ici et c'est la solution parfaite. Le matériel est épais, on sent la qualité. Juste un petit souci, le raccord fuyait un peu au début mais j'ai resserré et c'est bon.
Easy setup. Just unrolled it and plugged the hose in. The spray height is adjustable with the tap which is nice for my toddler who doesn't like it full blast. Drains fast too, just hung it over the fence to dry.
