Our 16-pound brindle French Bulldog likes stretching on the concrete by the garage entry after a warm walk, while plush beds usually get ignored. I filled the ProGuard Deluxe Enhanced / Regular Size Paw Cool Oasis Bed gradually with cool tap water, smoothed the surface, checked the cap, and placed it on a clean flat mat in the shaded entry. At about 25.6 inches (65 cm) in diameter, the regular size gives her room to curl or lie on her side without blocking the doorway. The bed has a bright blue water-filled center with colorful underwater graphics, a glossy fine-textured surface, and a thicker clear-blue raised ring around the outside. The water moves a little when she changes position, and I can adjust the feel by adding less or more water before securing the cap. It stays low to the floor, so she can step on without climbing over a tall edge. She sniffed the raised rim first, then stepped onto the center after we came back from a short walk. The edge flexed slightly under her front paws, and she settled with her chin near the ring while the rest of her body stayed on the center. I am a mid age dog mom and summers here are no joke. I bought the Paw Cool Oasis bed for my chunky golden, Daisy, and wow, what a difference. The first night she kept pacing like she always does when it gets muggy, I set the bed by her favorite window, she stepped on, did one big sigh, and melted into it. No drama, just calm, happy dog. Filling it was easy, I did it at the sink and played with the water level until it felt comfy. It is cool without being wet, and it wipes clean fast, which I love because Daisy is a crumb sprinkler. She sprawls like a starfish on the large size and actually naps instead of panting. The only hiccup was she sniffed at the water feel the first day, then decided it was her spot. I’m honestly so glad I grabbed this, Daisy absolutly loves it.

I got the regular size for my Frenchie, thinking he'd love it since he gets hot easily. I filled it up exactly as instructed. It feels cool to the touch, and seems sturdy. But he just sniffs it, steps on it for a second, then goes back to his old, less cool bed. I've tried putting treats on it, his favorite blanket, nothing works. It's not the bed's fault probably, just my picky dog. So it's sitting unused.
