How to Use WhiskerPlay Automatic Laser Cat Toy: Setup & Care

Ways to Use WhiskerPlay

Start With a 10-Minute Session

Choose Gear I, set the toy on a stable surface and stay nearby while your cat explores the moving light. Begin with slow play if your cat is cautious.

Use Timed Play During a Busy Day

Gear II runs a short session every two hours for up to 12 hours. Check the path before each use and continue to supervise your cat's response rather than treating the timer as all-day care.

Guide the Chase in Manual Mode

Pick up the toy in Gear M when you want to guide the pattern yourself. Keep the beam on the floor or wall and away from eyes, mirrors and other reflective surfaces.

Finish With Something to Catch

After the light turns off, offer a wand, ball or kicker if your cat still wants to play. This gives the session a clear transition to a tactile toy.

Rotate It With Other Enrichment

Bring WhiskerPlay out for selected sessions and rotate it with scratchers, climbing spaces, puzzle feeders and direct play. Stop using the laser if your cat becomes distressed or keeps searching for the light.
