A dog wheelchair can support movement when a dog cannot use the back legs normally, but it is not a diagnosis or a cure. Start with the cause of the mobility change

How to measure for a rear-support dog wheelchair
Use the manufacturer's measurement guide for the exact model. Rear-support carts commonly need more than body weight. Depending on the design, the required measurements may include supported standing height, body length, chest width, and points around the torso or limbs.
Measure while the dog is standing in a natural supported position, not curled on a bed or pulled upward by the abdomen. A second person can keep the dog steady while the first person measures. Repeat each measurement and write it down. If the dog cannot stand comfortably even with support, ask the veterinary or rehabilitation team how to obtain the needed dimensions without causing pain or risking a fall.
Do not choose only by breed. Dogs of the same breed can have different proportions, muscle loss, coat thickness, or body condition. How a dog wheelchair should fit

Supervision and everyday safety
Keep wheelchair use supervised. Prevent access to stairs, drop-offs, pools, narrow gaps, and places where a wheel can catch. Use a leash or other guidance only as recommended for the cart and dog. Avoid forcing tight turns or pulling the frame over curbs.
Watch for slower steps, repeated stopping, trembling, heavy panting unrelated to normal weather and activity, a change in posture, paw scuffing, reluctance to turn, or a new vocal response. A wheelchair does not solve all the care needs that can come with paralysis.
